2008 "Rainbow Cup" Visual Art Contest
for Children 16 and Younger

Entry fee is $10

The purpose of this contest is to inspire children's imagination, observation skills and creativity.

The contest is open to all children in greater Boston area and the winning artworks will be prominently posted in our web site, printed in a set of greeting cards and a booklet.

Rules

• Entries must depict an activity or an event which is "2008 Olympics in China" or "My happiest experience...". All entries may be focus on this with creative ideas and unique techniques.
• Entries must be completed by the child without assistance. Color copier output will not be accepted.
• Contest is open to children ages 16 and under. There will be two contest group: one is 8 years old and under; the other is 9 years old, but under 16.
• One entry per person.
• Artwork must be no bigger than 14" x 17". Any medium on paper or canvas will be accepted. Please be mailed or delivered flat not folded.

Information

• For 9-16yrs group: 1st place will have one people; 2nd place will be six people; 3rd place eight people; for 8yrs and under categories will be the same.
• Prizes for both age groups:
  1st place – $100
  2nd place – painting sets plus a set of cards with winning artworks
  3rd place – painting sets
• A list of the first, second and third place winners and their artworks will be published in our site.
• Winning artworks also will be printed in a set of greeting cards and a booklet.
• Use official entry form (either Chinese version or English version) or a photocopy to include the child's name, age as of January 28, 2009, address, phone number and e-mail address (if available) and parent or guardian signature with $10 entry fee. We are not responsible for lost/misdirected mail or incomplete entries.
• Entries will not be returned unless you enclosed a return envelope with postage.

• Judging will be done on or about February 20, 2009. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity and originality. Decision of the judges is final.
