Dear Mrs. Gao,
I just wanted to let you
know that I'm quite pleased with the drawing lessons Kevin and Ashley
are getting at your studio. I've noticed a considerable improvement
in their drawing ability since they started this past fall. Your choice
of subjects to draw capture the interest of the children, and the small
class sizes create a good learning environment. You are good at stimulating
their interest in drawing and making it fun. They enjoy going to the
lessons, which is a welcome change.
I feel the lessons are worthwhile
for three reasons:
1) it develops their
fine motor skills,
2) it develops their
visual perception skills,
3) and it fosters creativity.
I've noticed that Kevin's
handwriting is among the best of his class thanks to the drawing lessons.
His teacher has remarked on his ability to visualize things. I also
find it rewarding to see the children's artwork posted on your website.
I am envious of some of the abilities of the older students, as they
draw better than I do!
Sincerely,
Peter Rochford
P.S. I've also learned a
little about drawing from the kid's artwork :)
Thanks again for all your
encouragement and teaching for Ethan and Erik. They are having so much
fun in your studio. Not only they learned the certain drawing skills,
more importantly, you provide a great learning environment for them
so they are trying to use their eyes to observe, their mind to imagine
and their heart to express. I am so glad to see that and so proud of
them!

Gao Hong,
I am sure Stephanie (Duan) had so much fun at your studio. Once she was asking me to add one more drawing class every week for her. She enjoyed each class. Her drawing skills have been improved so much for the past year and half. Now her first prize winning piece in life science category of 2006 Shanghai children's drawing competition was printed in a book. I am so proud of her and so appreciated all your efforts to bring her art talents to the reality.

Dear Gao Hong,
I think you would like to know this. One of the paintings Matthew did in school is selected and displayed in Carlisle public library now. One person was chosen from each grade (around 80 people in his grade). It's a great improvement for Matthew since he joined your studio one and one half year ago. His handwriting and drawing pieces are constantly chosen by his teacher to display in the classroom. I really want to say thank you for your dedication and commitment to our kids and making learning fun!
